david carson
I was inspired by David Carson and took inspiration to create this critical link about him. I searched up as much information as I could about him and designed it solely based on his work, I went through his websites and found posters of his work, once I had saved them I would go back to have a look and use his ideas.I input the ones I took inspiration from in the critical link.
for the posters based off of David carson, I went to Manchester and took pictures of pretty old building some new, I then used photoshop to design these posters using textures backgrounds, the duplicate tool and the magic wand all put together to create these pieces. i used the magic wand tool for the text and the similar button to select the whole work i then copied it and pasted it on to the poster changing the colors and size to fit the poster well.
Paula Scher
I wasn't too fond of Paula Scher's work though I tried my hardest to duplicate it in this critical link. she uses lots of typography so I used pages and took some ideas of her work and put them together. I used her technique of using typography to create an image and large bold letters
neville brody
I researched the artist Neville Brody and watched a video on his work and how he impacted the art world. once I had researched all I needed I was able to use this to create a piece using inspiration from him. as you can see I used shapes to create 'shadowed door', once done I used the duplicate tool on photoshop to create the long page of letters which I took the opacity down and used to texture my background. i used the magic want tool and polygon lasso tool to take out images and select words from digital prints
